ASUS TUF Gaming RTX 3080 V2 OC doesn’t need any sort of introduction, the name speaks for itself, with its great reputation and historical performance, there is absolutely no doubt that this GPU would not be loved by the masses. It’s one of the best in its class and is set to make it big.

Clock Speed And Cooling:

The ASUS TUF Gaming RTX 3080 V2 OC has a base clock of around 1400 Mhz and a boost clock of 1815 MHz. These are some strong numbers and represent the sheer power of this Graphics Card.

Coming towards the cooling architecture of this GPU, ASUS has gone with alternate spinning axial tech fans to improve the airflow and pressure drastically.

The heat spreader has been flattened on a microscopic level for better dissipation of heat, there is a dedicated heatsink for the VRAM, and the 2.7 slot design also helps in enhancing the cooling.

The cooling of this GPU is superb and all the stuff it packs guarantees that you will have absolutely no thermal problems.

Design And Features:

ASUS has kept it simple with the design of this card, we see a triple-fan black/grey color design with an extended corner for the RGB and the logo on the front, the side is also decent; however, things get interesting on the back, where we see a backplate with multiple cutouts for cooling and an awesome pattern going diagonally through the GPU.

In a nutshell, the design seems a bit under the radar but will do for people who want simplicity and nothing too flashy. Added features of this card include the GPU Tweak Software, military-grade capacitors, and RGB customization.

My Findings:

After using this GPU for more than a month I can clearly deduce that it gives a lot in the performance sector and is worth the money. So if you are the type of person who is only concerned with the performance of the card and is not into looks then this GPU might be the perfect fit for you.

Factors I Tested To Show You The Best RTX 3080 Card With Results:

In order to decide the best RTX 3080 for you, I had to go through a lot of factors and then chose the one who ticked the most boxes. Here are the factors I considered before deciding:

Price:

We are still not sure whether all the GPUs will get back to their MSRP or not, so to save you from a lot of work I looked up the scalpers’ price tag and the MSRP both for a better value to money comparison.

Pricing is always important when you are building a pc because what you save on one component can always be spent on another component and what’s even more important than the price is to see that is a component worth the money you are spending on it or not, regardless of the fact that how expensive it is.

Brand Warranty:

Brand Warranty is another important factor to consider before buying a GPU because it gives you a certain amount of time usually varying from 2 to 4 years in which if something goes wrong with your GPU for example if it stops functioning properly or its fans stop working or there is a PCB issue, then under these circumstances, you can claim the warranty and can either get your GPU fixed or get it replaced.

This is a type of insurance for your GPU and gives you a stress-free experience while it lasts. So, it’s always best to opt for a card that has the maximum warranty period.

Thermals:

The cooling architecture and thermals are a must check for any GPU you buy, if the architecture is good then it means that you can easily push your Graphics Card to the limit and overclock it all you want without any stress or hassle.

However, if your GPU has an obsolete cooling architecture then over time the temperature stats will rise and you will have a lot of heating problems.

Alongside the architecture, you should also check the thermal benchmarks of the card to have a better idea of its cooling capabilities and to save yourself from buying a problematic card.

Design:

At least to me, design is one of the major deciding factors when choosing a GPU. The design of a GPU should be bold, imposing, bulky, and futuristic as well as practical at the same time.

The design should be over the top but not at the cost of any performance or cooling downgrade.

And most importantly the GPU should have RGBs (based on personal preference, your preference may vary), without RGBs a GPU feels incomplete and I think every manufacturer should add RGB lights to their GPUs because they add an extra touch of premium-ness to your build.

Software Optimization:

This is perhaps one of the most underrated but most important factors when deciding to buy a new GPU. Whenever you look for a new GPU you should have a look at their tweaking software and other customization software.

It indicates how much ease the manufacturer wants to create for the user and also gives you greater control over your cards. The best example of this is the MSI Afterburner software which is the benchmark for the best software optimization among all manufacturers.

General Benchmarks Performance For The RTX 3080

Before we dive into the final conclusion let’s have a look at the general benchmarks of the RTX 3080 that I tested. I’ve tested the GPU on 3 resolutions, 1080P 1440P, and 4k respectively. It is to be noted that all tests were carried out on Ultra settings. So without further ado let’s get started:

These results are mind-blowing and this sort of performance was expected from this beast.

It passes my 1080p test and absolutely demolishes all the benchmarks, a 10/10 for it on this resolution.

1440p:

For 1440p resolution, I’ve decided to pick 6 games, all of these games can provide great graphics along with a high number of FPS. The results are as follows:

  • Assassins Creed Valhalla – 76 AVG FPS
  • Battlefield 5 – 124 AVG FPS
  • Farcry 5 – 135 AVG FPS
  • CyberPunk 2077 – 73 AVG FPS
  • Farcry New Dawn – 107 AVG FPS

Once again the 3080 has shown an incredible performance and is perfect for this resolution too. There were absolutely 0 lackings in this card and it stood firmly to the test and gave the ultimate gaming experience.

It has cleared this stage with a 9.5/10 score and is ready for the 4k resolution test now.

4K:

At 4K resolution, I’m going with the same 6 games that were used in 2k benchmarks these games are perfect for these kinds of resolutions, here are the results:

  • Assassins Creed Valhalla – 52 AVG FPS
  • Battlefield 5 – 91 AVG FPS
  • Farcry 5 – 94 AVG FPS
  • CyberPunk 2077 – 39 AVG FPS
  • Farcry New Dawn – 89 AVG FPS
  • Watch Dogs: Legion – 54 AVG FPS

The performance of this GPU on this resolution was also good, it stood strong and produced some serious numbers, however, it started to drop below the 60 fps mark and in some cases even 40 with RTX on in new games like CyberPunk and Watchdogs.

It cleared this test too and gave a satisfactory performance of 8/10.

Overall, this card stood tall in all categories with a slight dip in 4k, it maintained stable temperatures and had no lags or crashing problems. This GPU is the perfect companion for all types of games on all resolutions and is a must-buy if you have the budget for it.

Which RTX 3080 Card Should You Get?

After a thorough comparison in all formats I finally have the best card for you; among the top 2 were the GIGABYTE AORUS RTX 3080 Xtreme WATERFORCE and the MSI Gaming RTX 3080 Suprim X and the winner is the MSI Gaming RTX 3080 Suprim X.

I chose this card as the winner because it’s more practical than the GIGABYTE version, the GIGABYTE card has a better design but the MSI RTX 3080 has more added features and power, the GIGABYTE RTX 3080 has a better cooling system but its not practical as not everyone can afford liquid cooling and not everyone has a pre-installed water cooling kit.

Overall, the MSI Gaming RTX 3080 Suprim X has the perfect balance between stunning design, practical cooling, and exceptional performance. Its balance is what makes it truly special and a gamer’s best companion.

This was it from my side, I hope you liked the article and it helped you in comparing all the different versions of the RTX 3080 and choosing the best card for you. If you have any queries or recommendations then feel free to write in the comments section below.
