Best RTX 3060 Ti (The New Budget King)

Best 3060 ti Card

The RTX 3060 Ti came out at the end of 2020 for gamers who were strict on a budget, yet still wanted the premium RTX feature. It’s one of the few options in the mid-tier GPU category and one can argue that it’s worth its price.

It’s a perfect companion for high-quality 1080p gaming and Nvidia said that it is going to replace the RTX 2080 Super at almost half the price.

Just like all other newly released GPUs, this card’s supply got disrupted due to the global silicon shortage, and the remaining GPUs got in the hands of scalpers who sold them for overinflated price tags. However, Nvidia has stated that it expects this crisis to be resolved by Q2 of 2022.

If you have made up your mind to get this GPU off the shelves at MSRP once it is available but still haven’t decided on which model of this card you should choose then you have certainly come to the right place.

In this article, I have chosen the 8 Best RTX 3060 Tis and have explained them in detail. So without further ado let’s jump in:

ZOTAC Gaming has kept its signature taste intact with this RTX 3060 Ti Edge OC and is set to provide a well-performing GPU with its Overclocking Capabilities, but more on that later.

Let’s all just hope that the manufacturers keep their consistency in quality as always and deliver yet another amazing GPU.

Clock Speeds And Cooling:

The RTX 3060 Ti has a base clock of 1410 Mhz and a boost clock of 1695 MHz. These are pretty decent numbers for a GPU in this category, to be honest.

Plus, when you overclock it, the numbers can get higher and can provide you with even better performance overall. In the cooling department, ZOTAC uses the IceStorm 2.0 system, which enhances the overall thermal performance and keeps the temperatures low.

Moreover, the GPU also comes with new 11 blade fans, heat pipe, and heat sink to improve the cooling performance by a huge margin when compared to the old gen ZOTAC cards.

Design And Features:

The Design of this card is simple yet really inclusive and eye-catching. It has 2 fans which means that the GPU won’t take up a lot of space and will fit into almost any case.

At the back, we see the signature ZOTAC backplate, and on the side, there is a hint of something flashy in the form of a glowing LED ZOTAC logo.

  • PSU requirements are very minimal compared to other 3060 ti’s.

Drawbacks:

  • Its clock speed is nowhere near the boost speed of the variants offered by other vendors.

Owning the Founder’s Edition of any GPU has to be one of the biggest flexes, it feels as if you are a part of an exclusive group or something like this.

I assure you that you are going to feel the same way about this GPU as well. Apart from that, it’s a cool-looking GPU with the proper Nvidia aesthetics and everything you see in the commercials.

Clock Speeds And Cooling:

The Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti Founder’s Edition has a similar base clock of 1410 MHz and a boost clock of 1670 MHz. You might think that the boost clock is fairly low; even if it is, the Founder’s Edition always has its own place.

Coming on to its cooling, we can see 2x 85 mm fans and a radiator with aluminum fins. The left fan blows air towards the PCB, and the right one blows it towards the cooling fins. Apart from that, the overall cooling architecture is the same.

Design And Features:

The design of this GPU is simple but has some serious boldness to it. It’s the design we have seen over and over again, and it’s the design that hints toward the future of GPUs.

The backplate is also simple, with a small vent on it for improved airflow. Overall, this card carries a bulky and imposing look to it, and it’s going to add a lot to your build’s looks once it is plugged into your motherboard.

I don’t think I can call these features added because they will be available in all other variants of the card as well.

Regardless, I am going to discuss them here; this card comes with Nvidia Reflex that lowers your in-game latency; moreover, it has Nvidia G sync for less screen tearing and GeForce Experience for more customizability.

Best 3060 Ti: Important Features To Check

Before buying any version of the RTX 3060 Ti, you must compare some of the features that each card offers, after a thorough analysis, you can easily decide which features suit your needs and then you can go ahead and buy that particular card. These features include

OC Capabilities:

Checking the overclocking and boost clock capabilities of a card will give you a clear idea of where the GPU stands performance-wise. If a card has a good boost clock which is 1700 MHz, and on top of that, you also have OC in its name, then you are going to have a much better gaming experience in comparison to any other GPU out in the market.

Design:

When on the hunt for a GPU, you should consider the overall look of the GPU and see whether it will go well with your build or not. You should also have a look at its size to see if it fits your case.

Last but not least, the most important design aspect for people like me; is that you should always check the RGBs and their customization because, trust me, good RGBs on your card can make your setup look twice as beautiful as before.

Brand Warranty:

Brand Warranty is also an important factor in order to make your decision. You should search for brands that give you the maximum period of warranty so that if you have any problems in the future, you are able to save yourself from some hefty spending.

Software Optimization:

Many people overlook it, but software optimization can play an important role in your GPU’s performance. You should always choose a GPU that has the best drivers and software for tweaking the overclocks, fan speeds, and clock speeds. This way, you can make the most out of your card.

Price:

Price is less of a feature and more of a factor, but I think that you should know this. You should always compare the price of different variants of a Graphics card in correspondence to their performance, looks, and added features, this way, you can easily decide whether a card is worth its price or not.

General Benchmarks For The RTX 3060 Ti

I ran some benchmark tests on the RTX 3060 Ti at 3 different resolutions, namely 1080p, 1440p, and 4K, to see how good the card actually is.

Note: all the tests were carried out on high/ultra settings with RTX off

1080p:

  • Assassin’s Creed Odyssey – 75 AVG FPS
  • Assassin’s Creed Valhalla – 74 AVG FPS
  • Battlefield 5 – 114 AVG FPS
  • CyberPunk 2077 – 74 AVG FPS
  • FarCry New Dawn – 95 AVG FPS
  • Forza Horizon 4 – 173 AVG FPS
  • The Witcher 3 – 109 AVG FPS
  • Watch Dogs: Legion – 77 AVG FPS

The performance of this card on 1080p resolution is great, and I can deduce that it’s the best card for 1080p gaming these days.

1440p:

  • Assassin’s Creed Odyssey – 65 AVG FPS
  • Assassin’s Creed Valhalla – 60 AVG FPS
  • Battlefield 5 – 98 AVG FPS
  • CyberPunk 2077 – 48 AVG FPS
  • FarCry New Dawn – 94 AVG FPS
  • Forza Horizon 4 – 150 AVG FPS
  • The Witcher 3 – 95 AVG FPS
  • Watch Dogs: Legion – 65 AVG FPS

The performance of this card on 1440p resolution is also great, it remains stable on this resolution, too, with RTX off.

4K:

  • Assassin’s Creed Valhalla – 40 AVG FPS
  • Battlefield 5 – 65 AVG FPS
  • CyberPunk 2077 – 24 AVG FPS
  • FarCry New Dawn – 65 AVG FPS
  • Forza Horizon 4 – 103 AVG FPS
  • The Witcher 3 – 65 AVG FPS
  • Watch Dogs: Legion – 33 AVG FPS

The performance of this card on 4K resolution is not too good, it can perform well with old games but lacks with newer games like Watch Dogs: Legion, Cyberpunk 2077, and Forza Horizon 5, especially when RTX is turned on.

Overall, this GPU is best for 1080p gaming, but if you want a premium 1440p or 4k experience, then you should opt for other options such as the 3070, 3080, and 3090.

The average benchmarks for this GPU at 1080p were 135 fps and 80 fps at 1440p resolution with RTX off.
