The comparison between the RX 6700 Xt and the RTX 3060 Ti is interesting, as both these cards are almost the same in terms of performance, which is why many people are hard-pressed to decide which card they should purchase.
So to make your decision easier, I will do a 6700 XT 3060 Ti, which should set the record straight and make your decision-making a lot easier.
However, if you are someone who does not have a lot of time on their hands and wants an answer right now, scroll down to the conclusion, and you will get the answer you were looking for. So without further ado, let us compare the RX 6700 XT and the RTX 3060 Ti.

#1: God of War
The first title on my list is the ultimate daddy simulator ever released, God of War. I will put both cards through their paces at a resolution of 1440p with the settings all cranked to Ultra.
The Radeon RX 6700 hit 72 frames per second on average, with a 1% low of 68 frames per second. Once I had FSR enabled, the 6700 XT managed an average frame rate of 89 with a 1% low of 87 frames.
The Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti was a little slower here; however, it was not a slouch by any means, as it churned out 64 frames per second on average with a 1% low of 61.
With DLSS enabled on the RTX 3060 Ti, the average frame rates in God of War jumped to 85 frames per second with a 1% low 83.
#2: Guardians of The Galaxy
Next up is everyone’s favorite Marvel game that no one thought would be so good in the first place but exceeded everyone’s expectations which is Guardians of the Galaxy. On average, the RX 6700 XT hit 98 frames per second, with a 1% low of 95 frames per second.
The RTX 3060 Ti was a little faster in the Guardians of the Galaxy, averaging around 103 frames per second with the 1% low of 98 frames.
For the FSR and DLSS tests, I increased the game’s resolution to 4K, which was ideal here as both cards had enough horsepower for 1440p. The 6700 XT hit an average frame rate of 77 frames with a 1% low of 72 frames with all the settings cranked to Ultra.
The RTX 3060 Ti, on the other hand, was better in DLSS performance as I saw an average frame rate of 86 frames per second with a 1 % low of 84.
#3: Cyberpunk 2077
The next game on my list is CyberPunk 2077, which left a bad taste in my mouth at its release; however, it is slowly getting better with the newer patches and updates it receives.
This game is very demanding, which is obvious from the results I observed as the RX 6700 XT could only manage to run this game at 53 frames per second on average at 1440 Ultra with a 1% low of 50 frames.
The RTX 3060 Ti at 1440p Ultra ran this game at an average frame rate of 50 frames per second with a 1% low of 47 frames.
For fun, I lowered the settings to high, increasing the frame rates significantly enough to go over 60 fps. The RX 6700 XT managed to churn out an average frame rate of 64 with a 1% low of 54. The RTX 3060 Ti, on the other hand, managed 60 frames per second on average, with a 1% low of 54 frames.
#4: Red Dead Redemption 2
The final game on my list today is Read Dead Redemption 2, which is one of the most visually beautiful games of the last decade. However, it is highly optimized for PC, so this game runs very well on most computers.
The RX 6700 XT at 1440p with the max present enabled, I was able to get 81 frames per second on average with the 1% low of 76 frames per second.
The RTX 3060 Ti was only a margin error level better than the 6700 XT, with an average fps of 84 and a 1% low of 80.
6700 XT vs 3060 Ti: Specs And Features
The Radeon RX 6700 XT is a dual-slot GPU from AMD, released on 3rd March 2021. It has 12 GB of GDDR6 VRAM. It has 2560 shading Units and 40 RT cores for Ray Tracing, and it has support for various AMD features like FreeSync and FSR.
The 6700 XT supports the latest APIs, including DirectX 12, OpenGL 4.6, OpenCL 2.1, Vulkan 1.3, and Shading Model 6.5. This card has a TDP of 230 watts, with AMD recommending that you use at least a 550-watt PSU.
The Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti comes from the second generation of Ray tracing Nvidia cards dubbed Ampere, and it was released on 1st December 2020. It has 8 GB of GDDR6 VRAM.
It has 4864 Cuda Cores and 38 RT Cores. The 3060 Ti can do Ray Tracing and has other features like DLSS, GSYNC, and GeForce Experience.
The 3060 Ti supports APIs like Direct X 12, OpenGL 4.6, OpenCL 3.0, Vulkan 1.3, CUDA 8.6, and Shader Model 6.6. This card has a TDP of 200 Watts, and Nvidia suggests a 550 watts PSU at a minimum to run this card optimally.
6700 XT vs 3060 Ti: Price And Availability
The RX 6700 XT was released at an MSRP of $479, while the RTX 3060 Ti was priced at $399 at release. For almost a year, you could not find these cards, and If you were lucky enough to find them, you would have paid an exorbitant price for them.
However, with the death of Crypto Mining with the Ethereum merger, the markets are flooded with these cards, and you can get both of them at a very good price.
I scoured through a few 2nd hand marketplaces like eBay and Craigslist and determined that a good price to pay for any of them was somewhere in the $350 range.
6700 XT vs 3060 Ti: Video Output And Ports
The next thing I am going to compare is their video-out ports and the PSU connectors. The RX 6700 XT has a solitary HDMI 2.1 port on its back with three DisplayPort 1.4a.
This allows you to connect and run four monitors using this card simultaneously. You will need one 6-pin and one 8-pin power connector from your power supply to power this card.
The RTX 3060 Ti, on the other hand, has the same output layout with one HDMI 2.1 port and three DisplayPort 1.4a, which can run four monitors as well. This card needs one 12-pin connector from your power supply for power.
6700 XT vs 3060 Ti: Clock Speeds And Memory
The RX 6700 XT has 12 GB of GDDR6 memory, which runs on a 192-bit bus at a bandwidth of 384 GB/s at a memory clock of 2000 MHz.
The base clock of this card is 2321 MHz, boosting to 2424 Mhz while gaming and a further boost to 2581 MHz while performing even more graphically intensive tasks.
On the other hand, the RTX 3060 Ti has 8 GB of GDDR6 memory, which runs on a 256-bit bus at a bandwidth of 448 GB/s at a memory clock of 1750. The card has a base clock of 1410 MHz which boosts to 1665 MHz while gaming.
Top 3 Reasons To Consider 6700 XT in 2022

- The 6700 XT has more VRAM than the RTX 3060 Ti.
- AMD FSR has better support.
Top 3 Reasons To Consider 3060 Ti in 2022
- The 3060 Ti is cheaper than the 6700 XT.
- DLSS is objectively better than FSR in performance.
- The 3060 Ti is more efficient and consumes less power than the 6700 XT.
My Final Thoughts On It!
The RX 6700 XT and the RTX 3060 Ti, as mentioned earlier in the introduction, are almost the same card in terms of performance, which is why it can be so hard for many folks to decide which card to go with.
Unless you need to be loyal to a company for some reason or the other, I suggest you get a card that is cheaper for you to purchase.
Yes, the 6700 XT has more VRAM and a small bump in performance over the 3060 Ti, but the latter card evens this gap with better DLSS performance, a better encoder, and a lower price.
The Ethereum merger has flooded the markets with both of these cards, so you will not have to look very far and wide to get a good deal. So get the cheapest of both the cards you can find, and you will be happy with it for a long time.
